Blood Charge. If the Blood Boar moves at least 20 ft in any direction and hits with its tusks attack on the same turn, the target takes an additional (2d6) bludgeoning damage. Next turn, if the Blood Boar moves at least 20 ft again and this attack was successful, it does not trigger attacks of opportunity.

Battlerage. A Blood Boar is susceptible to going into a fit of rage if it fights for too long, becoming relentless in its attacks gaining a demonic strength but also losing control of its self-preservation instincts. After a Blood Boar makes 3 attacks in combat it enters a Battlerage state, this allows the boar to make an extra attack on its turn, gains advantage on strength checks, but its AC is reduced by 2.

Actions

Tusks Melee Weapon Attack +6 to hit, reach 5ft, one target. Hit: (2D6+3) piercing damage.

Blood Boars resemble grotesquely muscular versions of their mundane namesake. Their short and coarse fur varies from a deep reddish brown to bright vibrant red all over their bodies, with the exception of the jet black ridge running from the top of their head along their tall backs, lower haunches, to black tails. A Blood Boar’s tusks are massive and razor sharp, starting as thick as an orc’s arm at the base ending in a point at their 3ft length.

Behavior

Blood Boars are rage incarnate. They aimlessly prowl the flatlands of the Lower Planes and at all times seem twitchy and agitated, as if overcome with some malevolent paranoia. When one locks onto prey (which is just about anything for a Blood Boar) it attacks in a series of looping charges. Quickly the boar becomes enraged and loses all control of its body that may keep it from its now single purpose of killing its target. After downing or killing its prey the boar will not stop attacking, pummelling its victim until it is reduced to a featureless lump on the ground.

Knowledge Checks

Nature DC 10 - The creature appears anxious and ready to attack anything.

Nature DC 15 - Nature DC 15 - The creature’s lust for blood is apparent, the player knows minimizing the time dealing with the Blood Boar is key to defeating it.

Arcana DC 20 - Blood Boars are manifested rage sent to sow paths of destruction and chaos throughout the planes.

Treasure

Blood Boars have no treasure. Their tusks however can be removed successfully with a Survival check (DC 14) and given to a weaponsmith to craft a fiendish looking shortsword.

Organization

Blood Boars do not travel in packs and attack just about anything on sight.
